And the waiting continues...

Back from Dr. appt #2 this week....
Baffling...high blood pressure again, and gained 2 pounds in 2 days (water weight)....how does that happen? I've been obeying Dr's orders by resting, mainly laying around on the couch all day with a few "pick-me-ups" in between..ugh. Frustrating. Dr. did another non-stress today on the baby and all was well. The little stinker was really moving around and heartbeat was strong...a happy baby in the womb, why can't we convince her it's fun outside the womb too?? I was told my cervix is very soft, ripe and ready to go (sorry to share those details) however I am still on "bedrest" at home and need to do a 24 hr urine test to check for toxemia. Should know the results by the end of the weekend and we'll go from there...

After this weekend we may try the doctors famous "rootbeer float."
It goes something like this:
a tall glass of rootbeer + a dollop of vanilla ice cream + 1 ounce of castor oil+ wild and crazy s-e-x= onset of labor and/or a good "system cleanout"
Anybody ever try that method??
"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before. . . .Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. We develop ourselves and others when we take unorganized matter into our hands and mold it into something of beauty. . "

I love this quote because it is true..I love to create! In my moments of waiting today I unpacked my yard-sale sewing machine and searched the internet for something practical to make and use when this baby arrives....here is what I found......wet sacks! For..you know...soiled clothes/wet "stuff" you don't want wetting or stinking up the diaper bag...makes sense to me! All the materials I already had....fabric, zipper, old shower curtain (vinyl) .....here's the finished product..enjoy!

Here is the website should you want to make your own: http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2009/05/wet-bag-tutorial.html

We're getting there...

Home again, home again..it seems recently every time I leave the house I am so ready to return home again and rest..today is no exception! I'm home..yeah!!!!!!!!

My last ultrasound this morning was at 9, I left the house around 8:15 after needing to change my shirt twice after wearing my breakfast. Troy is quick to point out how often I make a mess of myself these days, he does so lovingly of course:)

The tech that did my ultrasound was once again very nice and took some measurements right away of her head circumference, some of her bones and checked out her heart, kidneys, etc. She also checked the levels of amniotic fluid in 4 different pockets and noted that everything looked great. She kept trying to come back to get a good glimpse of her face, but this little girl must be camera shy, every time she would put up her hands or turn away. I did get a quick little peek at her profile, including her nose, and could also see her moving her mouth. It is truly AMAZING what technology can do for us these days.

My ultrasound appointment ended with the doc coming in to go over all the info. The first thing he said was that the baby's growth looked great and he was very pleased. He estimated her to be right around 8lb., give or take a few ounces. That was a relief to me that this baby isn't a 10 pounder!:) He also said that the cyst I have on my left ovary has not changed, it's shape, or diameter throughout this pregnancy, which means most likely it is a dermoid, otherwise just a benign cyst. PRAISE GOD! It is something that may need to be removed in the future, but is not cancerous! So overall a great report!

I then headed to my Dr's apt where my blood pressure and swelling were both reduced since the last time I was in last Thursday, which is another great report! No pelvic exam this time, much to my dismay, but I go again on Thursday and will have one then! I am believing that we make some more progress until then!
As much as I am ready to have this baby I must say how thankful I am for an overall easy pregnancy, I know things easily could have been much different. God has been faithful to us, and once again I can't help feeling blessed.

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to all! Today is the day we remember those that have served our country in the past as well as the present. I am thankful for those that have fought and given their lives and those that are standing on battlefields today. Let's not forget to honor these brave men and women today!

Troy and I decided to have a pretty "low-key" memorial day today and not do any traveling, but we will certainly enjoy spending a quiet day at home making last minute baby preparations,(should she decide this is the week) sitting out on our deck, reading, and just plain relaxing.

Those of you that were fortunate to see my "kankles" and swollen sausages (toes) should be happy to know that the swelling has been reduced, so as long as I continue to obey Dr's orders, the rest of the swelling should take care of itself. Tomorrow is the big day....final ultrasound at 9 a.m., then on for my weekly Dr. visit..I will keep you all posted at to a possible timeline and how big our little Fannie has grown!

Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial Day Weekend

What a beautiful Saturday morning in May! Even though I am a large-soon-to-be 39 week pregnant lady I am still going to make the trek today to see Troy's cousin Mandi and attend her bridal shower. Mandi is getting married June 6th, so I am not quite sure that we will be making the wedding, hence my reason for REALLY wanting to get there today! Troy is off recruiting for the Messiah Men's Soccer team of which he will be an assistant coach to this fall. So even though we've been telling this baby to come anytime now, today would not be such a great day..maybe tommorrow :)

I am officially done with work as the doctor ordered last Thursday at my appt when he took one look at my swollen hands and feet and elevated blood pressure. My orders were to stay off my feet as much as possible-well, for those of you that know me well, this is a very tough task..I can always find something to do! HOWEVER I keep reminding myself that ignoring those orders doesn't just affect me, as in the past- so here's to me listening to orders!!

I have an ultrasound on Tuesday to accurately determine the weight of the baby and we'll go from there! Continue to pray for us as we enter this time of transition! Love you all!
