Another Snow Day- for lack of better thought!

This morning we were pleasantly surprised that the ground was once again covered in snow. Camryn was thrilled by this and stood for what seemed like hours at our sliding glass door gazing outside. Of course, she talked about the "schnoooow" and threw in a few Santas and Frostys. We all bundled, including Mommy who wore a beanie, apparently for the first time in Camryn's life. She stared and stared at me like I had some sort of dead animal of my head. I told her that Mommy's had to wear hats too, and she just smiled. Sometimes I really wonder what she is thinking. Outside we went, and she wanted nothing to do with being pulled in the sled, I volunteered to sit and be pulled around but Daddy said no. She wanted to "wak," and that she did. She strutted down the middle of the town homes, wagging her big puffy snow pants bum, and clopping her heavy, light-up, hand-me-down snow boots, and squinting as little flakes blew in and past her face. She was lovin' it. We finally convinced her to get in the sled, and she did...for a picture or 2, then she was done. I have pictures of her in that sled from last year, but this year..she is one independent woman.
Daddy shoveled the driveway and we broke out the sidewalk chalk- our 2 front porch steps were/are "snow-less" therefore providing the perfect canvas for some drawing. We drew, of course, snowflakes. Daddy made Cam a little Frosty, and gave her a little love toss of snow, right in the face..to which she responded how any little girl would- with a pure look of "no you did not just do that." (see for yourself) She really was a bit peeved for a moment or 2, until Daddy won her heart back by coloring with chalk with her.
We stayed out for just about an hour, until all of us needed more tissues, and our cheeks a new shade of red.
I am typing this entry, Daddy is grading tests, and Camryn is snoozing away....I guess a day in the snow is pretty exhausting.

Yes, that is the snow Daddy is throwing...right on her.

"the look" she is giving her Daddy after her snow shower

Nothing a little soap and water can't fix.

Snowy Day Adventure

Our area saw about a 1 inch snowfall last night, if that. But it was enough for a delay for Daddy and a playdate with our friend, Toby. Toby is the son of Emily (and Nick too!), a friend of mine that I played soccer with at Messiah. She and her family live locally, as do another couple that we are good friends with. We are so blessed to have each other to spend time with on days such as these! I packed Cam up this morning and we headed over for some snow fun. Toby is about 6 months younger than Cam, but he keeps up and they really are great friends! The best part of this snow day was the hot chocolate that us Mommys enjoyed after this playtime fun. Now Pennsylvania..no more of this one inch business...dump on us soooon please. I am dying to dig out the sleds.:)

Outside...quick!

The life of a stay at home Mom and her activities with her children (child in my case) seem to be stifled once Old Man Winter comes around. Of course there are always inside things for Mommys to be doing, but the house gets boring pretty quickly when you are inside for the majority of time So, let's see...we could go to the Mall, or Target (my favorite), The Thrift Store, ToysRUs, etc...but those would involve fun spending money (usually:(. Hence, my post for today. From the pictures, it kind of looks like we have a backyard, right? Welllll, we don't. Welcome to our 10 by 10 square of grass behind our townhouse. Lately it has been a haven for some quick trips outside, then back in to warm a bit, then back out..and mannnnn, has it ever been a lifesaver. Today we drug Mr. Giraffe along out with us, and before you criticize him for being "eyeless" (which he is) he used to be mine as a little girl and my Nana saved him, and passed him along back to us. (Thanks Nan:) He is the perfect height for Cam right now, and she loves riding him. "horsey style,"..you see, I am still trying to convince her that he is a giraffe. All you Moms that are reading this, after about 5 minutes of being out and me snapping these pictures, "glubs" and a hat were added (a necessity..its chilly!)
I am counting my blessings that we get a few more quick outside trips before it is too bitter to exit the house, and you better believe both of us are counting down days until the Spring. Bring on the warm weather, cause baby...it's cold outside.

Fun with Mr.Giraffe

Elmo enjoyed a ride too.

Happy to be out of the house..need I say more.

Girl Can Play

Camryn is really into toys these days. She has been playing really well by herself lately, and most of these pictures I took, she didn't even know I was in the room. She makes me laugh when she smiles and laughs to herself, she is just such a joy. Everytime she missed the slot with the coin on this piggy bank she would giggle and say, "woopy." That's code for "oopsie" here in the Sauer house. I think she then began to miss on purpose because she thought it was funny. In case you were wondering, she is still WAYYYYY into Frosty, although I keep telling her he's going back home really soon. This is one of her many adored Frosty shirts. And yes, the "tornado-ed" background of this picture is really my living room.
Oh well, I am really getting quite used to it.
Play on girlfriend.;)

The Face of Mischief

It's been a little more mild these past few days, and you better believe we escaped the walls of our home that we have been looking at:)..not that I don't LOVE being home (especially when Troy is home!:)..but it's nice to get out..and not have to spend money to do so. As soon as we got out the door and this little girl's feet hit the pavement, she was running! When she runs, her upper body leads, so we had some spills- but nothing major- nothing that a Mommy kiss couldn't fix. We ran to the park for some quick swining and sliding and hurried back, as it was mild, but not Spring people. We treasured the time Daddy was home on break, as you can see. Camryn just lights up for her Daddy, I like to think she does with me too, but especially with Daddy. He was defnitely her go-to guy over break. Back to school for Daddy today, but we survived.

New Year, New Habits..

Yes, I know...GUILTY. I am guilty of letting my blog go and falling off the face of the Earth. I know. BUTTTT today is a new day and a new year, and this Momma is jumping back on the wagon. The blogging wagon, that is. I have been a busy beaver setting up the blog/site for a new business that I am a co-owner of, check it out here www.milliemayphotography.blogspot.com , and let me know if you are ever in need of any pictures. Now for what you really are here to read about/see...CAMRYN! Little Cam Cam is such a big girl now, it makes me sad, but happy as well. She's not the little baby she once was and is this budding little toddling, talking "chatty Cathy", testing limits, exploring, climbing little lady, that I wouldn't change for a bit. Here are some recent pictures of Cam being Cam:) Tata for now, see you real soon. Just in case you are wondering, my blogging goal is posting on here at least once a week:) Stay tuned. Blessings to you in 2011!
